Groups of locals took to Boxford Farms to take part in our inaugural Blossom Walk on Sunday 8th May. The conditions couldn’t have been better – ‘proper’, characteristic May weather: hot and dry. A perfect example of why our produce grows so well!
Farms Manager Robert England alongside Managing Director Susanna Rendall, Director Tamara Unwin, Andrew Rendall, Chris Moore and Lucian Benke took groups of local visitors around Boxford Farm’s apple and cherry orchards, showcasing incredible pink and white blossom, and a sensual fragrance that cannot be matched at any other time of year.
Walkers were enthusiastically informed about the types of apples blossoming – Cox’s, Braeburn, Worcester and Gala – alongside Morello, Kordia, Karina, and Regina cherries.
After enjoying their walks, guests were delivered to the Farms’ sister company, the Stoke by Nayland Hotel where they could indulge in delicious cream teas on the beautiful Gallery Bar terrace, overlooking the lake and both courses.
It was an incredible day for both the walkers and for us at the Farm, and we can’t wait to do it again next year! Keep your eyes peeled on our website, Facebook and Twitter feeds to keep up to date on our upcoming events!
